Chinese Ketchup

Let’s talk about chinese ketchup (or is it catsup?). Guess it depends on what part of the world you are from. The official name on it is Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce made by Huy Fong Foods in California. This is how Huy Fong Foods describes it:

Our most popular hot sauce.

Sriracha is made from sun ripen chilies which are ground into a smooth paste along with garlic and packaged in a convenient squeeze bottle. It is excellent in soups, sauces, pastas, pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers, chowmein or on anything else to give it a delicious, spicy taste. Like all our sauces, we use only the highest quality ingredients and never any artificial colors or flavorings.

Available in 17 oz. and 28 oz. bottles.“

Love the paste! Paste is good! I of course bought the big bottle because the gang members all LOVE IT (HOOPS!) and with me helping we should polish off a big bottle of it by mid-season. I got mine at Target in the spicy food section. They don’t sell it online there so you have to get off your couch and drive to a Target to get it. Unless you want to get hosed by Amazon for more money or 6 bottles. My grocery store doesn’t seem to carry it. Their loss.

Now, I gotta tell you, I am a classic Tabasco kind of guy. I like all the flavors except for that new Sweet & Spicy one. That one is gross and it looks like they are having a hard time getting rid of it since it is ALWAYS on sale! The old favorite of one of the gang members was the Chipotle. I still like that one, along with the regular, habanero, garlic, garlic marinate, and green. Great taste and any amount of fire you desire. (poetry in motion) Sort of like this chinese ketchup…taste great…burns your ass.

Need I say more?

I am Slim. I like Hot Sauce.
